US SEC Exemption No. 82-3378
RICHMOND, BC - Terence A. Ibbetson, President, CON-SPACE COMMUNICATIONS LTD., (VSE:CCB) announced today the receipt of an order from British Customs for over two hundred and fifty thousand dollars worth of confined space communication systems.
One of the more difficult tasks faced by customs is the search for contraband onboard oceangoing ships. For example, freighters carry cargo, but they also contain many relatively inaccessible areas that can be used as hiding places for contraband. These locations are not only very difficult to enter and move around in, but are also very dangerous. They are, in fact, confined spaces. British Customs selected CON-SPACE equipment because it improved the safety and effectiveness of Rummage crew-members during ship search operations and survived exposure to these extremely harsh environments.
"The order calls for sufficient equipment to outfit twenty of the seventy plus Rummage Crews in the UK," said Ibbetson. "Our equipment was evaluated over an extended period and used in many real search operations before being accepted and given the budget to proceed with the purchase," continued Ibbetson. "In fact, Canadian Customs Rummage Teams have been using our equipment for sometime now as a direct result of the British recommendation. Customs groups from several other countries are currently considering CON-SPACE equipment."
