NEWS RELEASE NO. 96-013

Richmond, B. C. -- Mr. Terence A. Ibbetson, President, of CON-SPACE COMMUNICATIONS LTD., (CCB.V) announced today the receipt of an initial order from British Airways for several CON-SPACE Communication Systems for use within their fuel tank maintenance program.

British Airways, the world's largest airline, evaluated this equipment for many months and as a direct result have decided to use CON-SPACE equipment in all their maintenance facilities for operations involving fuel tank modification, maintenance and inspection.

CON-SPACE specializes in manufacturing unique communication and alarm equipment for use by those who must work in Confined Spaces and hazardous atmospheres. Its products have become the industry standard and are used throughout general industry, municipalities and the military. Aircraft manufacturers, such as Boeing and Lockheed and several major Airlines, are long time users of CON-SPACE equipment.

"Our U. K. distributor, Handley & Beck, worked closely with British Airways and must take most of the credit for this order," said Ibbetson. "It takes a while for a company with over CND $1.14 billion in profits(1995) to come to a decision but when they do, you know it is a well researched and cost effective solution. Like many other world airlines, British Airways recognized that CON-SPACE equipment will increase both the safety and efficiency of their fuel tank people." Mr. Ibbetson declined to give a value to this order but indicated it was substantial and represented only a small portion of their total requirement.

CON-SPACE equipment is now used by many of the world's major airlines.
