NEWS RELEASE NO. 97-014

RICHMOND, B.C. - The President of Con-Space Communications Ltd., (VSE:CCB) Mr. Terence A. Ibbetson, announced today the introduction of a new communication product line, the SR65, a unique two-way radio accessory that can be used with most current models of commercial portable radios. The innovative design allows the unit to work with any make of breathing mask and in any hazardous or high noise work environment. The market for this new product includes police, fire departments, rescue teams, HAZMAT teams, the military and general industry.

The rugged waterproof SR65 uses the CON-SPACE throat microphone: field proven and designed specifically to give clear speech and comfort under abnormal work conditions. The CON-SPACE slim-line, low profile padded speaker delivers incoming voice signals with exceptional clarity. Whether the users are operating in tight and potentially dangerous work areas or operating with full face mask equipment, they can count on quality communication.

CON-SPACE is well known for its hard-line communication equipment, especially its confined space rescue communication systems used by many fire and rescue departments across North America and now being introduced into other parts of the world. With the development of a variety of other specialized communication equipment, CON-SPACE has, in its short existence, become the world authority on voice communication equipment for hazardous and explosive work environments. The SR-65 now allows the company to enter the wireless communication market. This will be a direct compliment to its existing business.

"We thought we had better go into full production and announce the SR65 as soon as possible because the reputation of the beta units used for field testing spread so fast we could not keep up with the demand", said Ibbetson. The two-way radio industry exceeds $200 billion per year.

CON-SPACE has recently opened offices in Kent, England, to address the UK and European market places.
