RICHMOND, BC-Mr. James L. Swanson, Chairman of CON-SPACE COMMUNICATIONS LTD., (VSE: CCB) announced today that as a result of continuing growth within its British subsidiary it has become necessary to relocate the UK operations to larger premises as well as expand its staff.
CON-SPACE COMMUNICATIONS (UK) LTD., was incorporated just one year ago and started business effective July 1, 1997. During its first 10 months of serving both the United Kingdom and Europe the subsidiary completely out grew its initial facility and has now relocated to the Castle Road Technical Centre in the Eurolink Trading Estate of Kent, England. This new location will facilitate the company in the expanding UK and European markets. The new office is located not far from the new Chunnel, making access to Europe convenient for both sales and shipments.
In speaking with Mr. Graham Withington, CON-SPACE UK's National Sales Manager, he said, "we are thrilled at are our growth here in England, it proves that last year's decision to start this subsidiary was not only the right one but also made at the right time." Regulations put into effect in January of this year has required the British industrial community to properly train and equip their work forces when they are required to work in confined space locations. This is one of the major target markets for the CON-SPACE equipment.
This rapid growth has also necessitated the need to add to the staff in England with more new hires planned in the near future.
Growth is no stranger to CON-SPACE, for the company's world headquarters, located in Richmond, British Columbia, just last year moved to larger premises as a result of its continued growth. "With the ever increasing sales of our products throughout the world we foresee the need to continue our expansion," said Swanson. "This past year has seen nearly a doubling of staff and a tripling of facility size. Though we will be comfortable in our new facilities for a while the staff size will continue its growth."
Swanson also pointed out that the staff increases both at head office and in England will be done under very controlled conditions so as not to over expand too quickly.
